Estoi, Portugal - Goodbyes

We finished up our stay in Estoi with more pruning, brush clearing, a big bonfire to burn up the mess we made. If I can't do something creative then something destructive is the next best thing, so it was good to once again embrace my inner pyromaniac. The weather during our time here has been great. The nights get chilly but the days have been warm and sunny – good enough for meals out on the terrace. We actually have tans – either that or scorched skin from standing too close to the bonfires. A few nights ago was fondue night, with a giant bowl of melted cheese prepared by one of Lucia and Wolfgang's Swiss friends along with his Portuguese wife, a German friend, and our resident stone mason Ralf (not Rolf or Aulf as previously assumed). Wednesday we said our goodbyes to Ralf, our generous hosts Lucia and Wolfgang, their cats and dogs, and the town of Estoi. Next up is another HelpX stay in Portugal, still in the Algarve, not far from here near Loulé.

Burn, baby, burn.
